Entrellaçat

The duo of pianists formed by Mireia Fornells and Joan Miquel Hernàndez Sagrera asked Mercè Torrents to dedicate a work to them after having very successfully performed the composer’s Evocació (Remembrance) (of Mn. Jacint Verdaguer).
This work is the result of that request and its title Entrellaçat (Intertwined), reflects both the musical content and the description of the excellent piano work of the performers, to whom this piece is dedicated. The feeling of mutual admiration between the composer and the performers is conveyed in the music of this score, which requires a tight rapport between the four hands of the duo.
In the words of Mercè Torrents, “Until I have heard this piece, I won’t know if I have achieved my aim of doing justice to the expertise of the Fornells-Hernàndez duo”.
