Three short compositions created at two different times yet with an evident desire for unity. These are open structures in the style of a fantasy, with a fluid line from start to finish. The composer says: “I wanted to create an atmosphere that would please the listener to the point that when the piece starts playing, they have the feeling that it was playing before. In these three pieces the music is compressed into a very profound musical approach.”
In 1998 Pere Soto started writing the first MicroDuet and in July 2011 he completed it with the other two. Although the formula would lead us to think there should be many more, the composer believes that three is an excellent number with sufficient spiritual connotations as to complete the structure of the work. They are not difficult to play.
