Aquàtic is a tribute to all those feelings evoked in us by water in its various forms: the sea, rivers, rain... It puts particular emphasis on the hypnotic state into which one is plunged by acts of nature, where man’s role is reduced to that of a mere spectator; as our thoughts are suppressed, the door to our senses is opened.
This work was commissioned for the 5th International Week of Contemporary Music in Barcelona in 1992 and was first performed by the Percussions de Barcelona group.
