These two short pieces for piano form part of two moments that are quite distant in terms of their date of composition, but not so much so in terms of style.
Vida (Life, 1984) was laid down whilst the composer was learning to play the piano with teacher Maria Marlet, whom this piece is dedicated to.
The Fantasia was composed fourteen years later in 1998, and with the experience acquired both in the worlds of piano and jazz, the composer improvised to find new piano tones that lead us towards meditation.
These are two very different pieces that nevertheless complement one another thanks to their intense emotional strength.
