Quartet de corda núm. 1

The work Quartet de corda núm. 1 “A la Muerte de un ángel” (String Quartet No. 1 “On the Death of an Angel”) was commissioned in July 2010 by the Anglo-Spanish string quartet The Billroth String Quartet, and I composed it between September and December of that same year. It was premiered by the quartet in February 2011 at two consecutive concerts in England. At the same time, having cleared it with the composer, the revised the work with the addition of their own interpretative vision of the work written for them.
I dedicate this work to the angel that will always be present in my memories. Death may have come, but angels are immortal.
