The Capricho núm. 4 para tres trompetas is a piece from the 70s dedicated to the great trumpet player Jaume Espigolé, with whom Fleta shared a professional life both in the different orchestras in which they played as well as the classrooms of the Higher Conservatoire of Music in Barcelona.
The first movement is almost a perpetual movement in which the imitative writing stands out from the first to the last bar. The second movement, slower and reflexive, raises an issue that is revealed on three occasions (one in each sound) clearly showing the equality of conditions with which each of the three instruments is dealt, preventing any of them from acquiring a more prominent role.
