Cadencia para viola solo

The composer himself gives us the context within which he created this work:
“–I wrote this work for a performance at the Badalona Conservatory where I teach. I was motivated by the sense of fellow feeling – in human as well as musical terms – which one of my students aroused in me, who had to get through a diffi cult end-of-course public performance at the same school and was really worried about it. I tried to condense in the piece all the different technical diffi culties that the test required within a short space of time, for which I felt that the student was perfectly prepared”.
