These five miniatures in song form are titled Chanson sans paroles, Chanson à l’aube, Chanson à la mer (which also appears in the version for piano solo), Chanson and Chanson de printemps. They don’t have an apparent technical difficulty for the performer and the real challenge of these pieces lies in its extreme gentleness. The great musical sensibility of the composer is patent here, and as a result, we have these little moments of beauty.
The work was composed along periods of rest between July 2011 and May 2012. It was premiered in UK and Spain in 2012 by the violinist Francisco Jimeno, who reviewed the violin part, and the pianist Kishori Kumar.
